We offer a wide range of health and support services — from nursing care and allied health to wellness programs and community support. Our goal is to keep you healthy, independent, and connected, close to home.

Our Programs

At Lake Bolac Bush Nursing Centre, we run a variety of programs designed to support the health, wellbeing, and social connection of our community. From weekly exercise classes and social groups to mental health support and educational workshops, our programs aim to keep people active, informed, and connected.

Computer Learning
Supportive Friend

Social Support Group

A lovely group-based lunchtime get-together on Thursdays attended by those wanting to connect and engage with other local community members.
Outings such as picnics and shopping trips are also offered on a weekly basis.
Available to anyone wanting to attend.

Yoga Class

Exercise Classes

Exercise classes take place at the Centre every Thursday.
Fab & Fit: 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Living Longer, Living Stronger: 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM

An assessment with the EGHS Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist is required prior to commencing classes.

Our Services

We provide a range of nurse-led and community health services designed to keep you well, independent, and supported — right here in Lake Bolac.

Nurse Led Clinic

Our services include pathology, wound care including suture / staple removal, vital signs (blood pressure checks), blood glucose testing, medication administration (injections), ECG, telehealth, immunisations, and assessment and management of clinical and emergency presentations.

District Nursing 

District Nursing services are available to members of the Lake Bolac and District community. The aim of our service is to work in partnership with clients and carers to identify and attend to each individual’s health needs. Post Accute Care (PAC) and Help in the Home (HITH) are also available. 

First Line Emergency  Response 

In the event of a medical or trauma emergency in the community, we will be contacted by Ambulance Victoria to provide an emergency response.  This alerts our Remote Area Nurses to provide emergency care (including medications administration) prior to  the arrival of paramedics.

Pathology  & Medication

Pathology collections services are provided at the Lake Bolac Bush Nursing Centre from Monday to Friday between 9:00AM and 12:30PM, free of charge. Courier collection by Clinical Labs is also on a daily basis. Patients need to bring a pathology request slip from their doctor.

 

Prescription medications are delivered to the Centre on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from Mortlake Pharmacy.

Maternal & Child   Health Nurse

The Maternal and Child Health Nurse (M&CH) is a family-centred heath service enhancing the quality of life for children aged 0-6 and their families, free of charge.  A M&CH Nurse from the Ararat Rural City Council visits the Lake Bolac Bush Nursing Centre on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Bookings: 5355 0224

Allied Health 

Podiatrist (bookings via LBBNC- 53558700) Third Thursday of the month- Cost $10 per visit
Physiotherapist Thursday weekly. Cost $10 per visit.
Mental Health Consultant from Royal Flying Doctor Service every fortnight
Diabetic Educator and Dietitian as required.

Doctor & Telehealth Services

In partnership with the Skipton Medical Centre, they will provide Telehealth Services, Tue-Fri and GP Visits every 2nd Thursday of the month.  Appointments to see Dr Francesco Iannello, here at LBBNC, can be made via Skipton Medical Centre on 5340 1110.  Appointments will be between 10am-1pm.  The Centre offers a private consult room and backup nurse support if required.  All consultations are bulk billed.

Nurse Practitioner

Our Nurse Practitioner, Jan Milliken offers services at the Center Tuesday-Thursday. Services include:

  • Advanced health assessments and treatment

  • Ordering and Interpreting tests

  • Prescribing of medicines

  • Referral to GP, Medical Specialists and Allied Health professionals

Social Support Group

The Lake Bolac Bush Nursing Centre has a SSG which has been an ongoing part of the centre for over 24 years. They offer outings twice a month, meals on wheels and host a Carers Support Group.

Meals are offered every Thursday at Noon to the SSG and Community members for $10.

Stay connected while you’re here. We offer complimentary Wi‑Fi throughout the Centre—perfect for telehealth appointments, checking emails, or simply staying in touch with loved ones.

Equipment Hire

Consultation & Treatment Rooms

Private rooms for nursing care, pathology collection, and allied health visits.

Equipment is available for hire to aid in recovery from illness or surgery. The following items are available for a small fee of $5 per week:
